    • If so, please see below.Mechanical Design Engineer Newcastle Upon Tyne Huxley Engineering and an Engineering Innovator in High-Value Engineered Products for the Electric Vehicle Market are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Engineering HQ near Newcastle, owing to headcount growth to help deliver against project workload for 2021 - 22+Based in their Innovation Centre in the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne area and reporting into the Mechanical Engineering Lead, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in the design, prototyping and development of new products (including Mechanical Components & Assemblies) as well as carrying out CFD / FEA Analysis, Validation & Testing on new & existing products, coupled with support in taking Products into Manufacture.Specifically, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Designing solutions for mechanical hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles
  • Performing CAD simulation as well as physical tests to ensure the design meets specifications.
  • Maintaining records and developing documentation on all designs, procedures, tests and analysis.
  • Supporting designs from prototypes, development, and customer returns.
  • Participating in mechanical, Printed Circuit Board layout and project reviews.
    • Specifically, my client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer with the following experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / NPD Engineer / R&D Engineer or similar
  • Design & Analysis experience with 3D CAD tools (ideally Solidworks) and simulation/analysis tools (i.e. Cosmos)
  • Good understanding of fabrication processes (injection moulding, die-casting, sheet metal and machined parts)
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Tolerances, Stresses & Thermal Analysis
  • GD&T / BS8888 experience
