Job Description

Machine Shop Floor InspectorBasic Salary £31,616 (£16 per hour 38 hours per week)Based in WashingtonDue to continued expansion were looking for an experienced machine shop floor inspector to work in a precision engineering organisation based in Washington. This is a full time role but working 38 hours over 4 days, Monday to Thursday, carrying out inspectionsand testing and creating reports and recalibrations. If youre experienced in a similar role in a mechanical environment wed love to hear from you!The Role:

  • Youll be creating inspection and dimensional reports, checking critical sizes on drawings compared to product and recording them. For this youll be using a CMM (co-ordinate measuring machine).
  • Completing regular material test reports and checking against test certificates
  • Managing the calibration review schedule for calibration of micrometers, verniers etc and checking these using the CMM.
  • Completing files and reports on non conformance records and looking at how to prevent recurrence of those situations.
  • Youd be working Monday to Thursday from 7am - 5pm but there is also overtime available.
The Person:
  • Were looking for someone who has previous experience of shop floor inspections and has used a CMM previously,
  • Youll be organised and comfortable writing reports and reviewing information
  • If your background isnt as an inspector but you have been a shop floor supervisor or similar and can demonstrate where youve done fairly regular inspections previously this could also work well
  • Attention to detail is essential and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently is needed.
The Package:
  • The salary is £16 per hour which equates to £31,616 per annum.
  • Overtime is also available paid at time and a half
  • Great 4 day working week
