Job Description

Lead RooferAn exciting position has become available for a full time Roofer to join a friendly team based in Washington, NE38 8QD. The successful candidate will earn £900 per week (gross) with a high basic wage and performance bonuses.   • Running jobs, experience is essential and working with labourer(s)
  • Knowledge of building regulations for slating, tiling & flat roofing
  • Good time keeping is essential
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Good attention to detail
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Be able to carry out basic tasks on computer or hand-held devices
    • Role Responsibilities
  • Must hold full UK driving licence
  • Carrying out new roofs and repairs to domestic properties (slating, tiling & flat roofing)
  • Team leader, running the job from start to finish ability to drive job on if problems occur
  • Skills: fitting of eaves, dry fix verges, ridges, dry/wet valleys, velux windows, pointing chimney stacks, fitting lead flashings around chimneys, marking roofs, gauging roofs, fitting materials to fixing guide & basic flat roofing skills
  • The experience to make sure roof is watertight at the end of every day’s work
  • Keep site organised and clean throughout project
  • Working with other craftspeople, such as joiners and plumbers
  • Working at heights, using ladders, scaffolding and safety equipment like a hard hat and knee-pads
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines
