Job Description

We are proudly representing our manufacturing client in their search for a Facilities & Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assisting the Facilities Manager in the day to day operation of the site and buildings.   • Undertake a wide range of general basic building maintenance repairs, and improvements
  • Carry out daily routine inspection of the buildings and grounds to identify, record and take appropriate action
  • Minor plumbing, carpentry and DIY
  • Minor grounds maintenance
  • To assist contractors as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all relevant health safety and environmental legislation.
  • General maintenance, testing and operation of systems relating to the fire alarms, sprinkler system, intruder alarm, heating and ventilation, gas and water, lighting.
  • Ensure essential systems are able to function such as fuelling the generator and sprinkler pumps
  • Carry out improvements in respect of internal and external redecoration and internal and external fabric of buildings.
  • Assist with maintaining the physical security of the site including supporting on occasion out of hours access.
    • The Person:
  • Ideally hold a HNC in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or similar
  • General experience of building maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of building schematics and plans.
  • Counterbalance Forklift truck license
  • Practical use of tools and equipment
  • Time served as an apprentice (mechanical/ electrical)
  • Be able to work own initiative and be able to liaise with other functions and departments
