Job Description

Job Role: Theatre NurseJob Location: Warwick Salary: £21 - £29.50Hours: Full Time and Part Time Hours availableShifts Days, Nights, Earlies, Lates Firstpoint Healthcare is an on-framework agency supplying high-quality medical staff for over 20 years to the NHS and private hospitals here in the UK. As a trusted supplier to the NHS we provide our healthcare heroes with a range of opportunities that aretailored to what they want.We are currently recruiting for Theatre Nurses with at least 6 months experience of working within the NHS. The role will involve working collaboratively with the theatre scrub and the peri-operative team to deliver safe and efficient anaestheticand surgical care in theatres.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe care of the patient during the perioperative phase of their care
  • Prepare patients for clinical/ operative procedures
  • Provide assistance in clinical/ operative procedures
  • Providing initial emergency care as required. Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate equipment, drugs and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures incorporating various types of anaesthesia.
  • Ensuring that the patients comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
  • Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures incorporating various types of surgery prior to use and any faults reported to the Theatre Manager immediately.
  • Coordinate the use of supplies and equipment during the operating list, ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner. Monitor, order, receive and check stock items including consumables, equipment and drugs.
  • Promote and ensure an environment conducive to the continuing prevention and control of infection for all staff, patients and visitors.
  • Ensure any accidents or complaints are fully documented and that the appropriate manager is informed.
  • Maintain the safe custody, handling of drugs in accordance with policies
  • Undertaking any other duties as required by the line manager
Scrub Nurse Requirements
  • Proven 6 months experience as an Anaesthetics Scrub Nursein the NHS
  • NMC Registration
  • Last 3 years employment references
  • UK Right to work
