An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Purchasing Manager to join theirteam on a 6-month basis. Reporting to the Operations and Supply Chain Director you will be responsible for the motivation, leadership, development, and performance of your discipline. You will be responsible for the management of Direct Procurement includingthe successful introduction of a new design, incorporating all sourced elements, with collaboration and co-ordination with supporting Engineering and Quality functions. The primary focus on this Interim role will be as follows but not exclusive to cost Managementof the Bill of Materials (BOM) and sourcing/onboarding of new suppliers. There is a high degree of people management, support, and challenge around the integrity of both sourcing Internationally and the ability to convert mindsets from sourcing componentryto sub-assemblies.Main Responsibilities:* Manage the costed BOM* Support and challenge the Buyers on attracting competitive solutions to achieve the BOM targets with a variety of Tools* Ensure smooth onboarding of Suppliers / timely RFQ management / weekly reporting rhythm (Programme Management)* Strong inter-departmental collaboration* Strong people management, mentoring, and influencing skills* Support and deputise for the Head of SC* Support presenting out weekly to the Exec detailing financial road maps etc.Key Skills and Experience:* Experience in Procurement at a direct or indirect level within a manufacturing environment* Managerial experience of at least 3 years* Experience in delivering commodities and sub-assemblies to a production timeline including new/existing sources* Values-based approach to leadership, with a strong behavioral set and the ability to engage and drive performance within your team/stakeholders - influencer, motivator, and mentor* Strong cost and deadline focus* Exceptional communication and presentation skills* SAP knowledge is desirable but full training given* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Additional Information:* Please note this is an interim fixed-term contract role likely to last for 6 months.
