Job Description

Underwriting and Account ExecutiveWarringtonSalary : £40,000Connexus Group of Companies offer bespoke specialist insurance products including commercial and landlord legal expenses, motor and household legal expenses, landlord and rent guarantee, and automotive ancillary products, along with cycle insurance. We providesupport services to insurers, brokers and MGAS nationally, as well as managing affinity schemes via full cycle quote and buy web services on -line, and wholesaling products nationally.We are currently seeking an Underwriting Executive from an insurer, MGA or broker background who can demonstrate that they have knowledge of the arrangements for the accounting of our products as well as being able to communicate and provide management informationand Bordeaux to our capacity providers.You will be part of the underwriting team based at our offices in Warrington and will act as a point of liaison between ourselves and underwriters/brokers and MGAs on a day-to-day transnational level. In addition, you will also assist with the distributionof our products to both existing and new clients.An accountancy or book -keeping qualification and experience of having dealt with accounts and bordereau submissions to insurers would be an advantage,Underwriting Key Responsibilities: · Reconciliation and reporting of month end premium bordereau to our underwriters.· Reconciliation of receipts received to internal systems.· Provide assistance to the managing director during renewal of binders.· Help resolve day to day underwriting queries, referrals and validations via telephone and mailboxes.· Assist in underwriting audits.· Attend (remotely) quarterly underwriting reviews with external underwriters and respond to questions and queries where appropriate.· Liaise with clients and brokers re submission of bordereau and payments of premium.· Undertake analysis of competitor products and prices to provide accurate information for reporting purposes.· CRM management and maintenance in relation to products for the purpose of LEI validation· Preparation and maintenance of spreadsheets for reporting· Payment of claims from managed fund accounts· Preparation and finalisation of monthly claims bordereau for our underwriterData query identification and resolutionCollaboration with the digital team to improve systems, process and reporting.Issuing of documentationCorrespondence emails/lettersManually producing documents where necessaryWork collaboratively with colleagues and business partnersGeneral administrative and underwriting support to the wider underwriting and sales support functionSkills/Attributes:Basic understanding of accountancy would be advantageous.Possess strong organisational skills and excellent time management.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Be able to demonstrate clear thought process.Manage a high volume of work with conflicting priorities.Ability to meet tight deadlines.High standard of literacy and numeracyKnowledge of Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of Transactor is advantageous.Account Management Key responsibilities:Developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients (brokers), primarily insurance brokersIntroducing new products and promoting them through regular visits and communication with intermediariesGaining new business by identifying and exploiting opportunities in the local marketIncreasing profitability of existing product lines by encouraging clients (brokers) to use added value services wherever possibleConsulting on the most effective cover for a particular needDelivering excellent customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients (brokers)Skills/Personal attributes required:*Insurance background essential*Strong sales and negotiation skillsAttention to detail and accurate record keepingThe ability to inspire trustExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAn interest in meeting new people and relationship management skillsGood customer ethicAbility to develop and deliver innovative ideasCommercial awareness and a keen interest in businessExcellent time management skills and self-motivationOutgoing personality with a passion to succeedSmart business dress is required, given the client-focused nature of the workMust hold a full UK driving licence
