Trusted products for global brands - we require a commercially driven Supply Chain & Operations Manager to join our senior management team and play a critical role in leading our UK business. We need a real ‘hands on’ operator who holds continuous improvement close to their heart. A strong work ethic and flexible but honest approach will be vital.BASIC SALARY: £45,000 - £55,000BENEFITS:

    • JOB DESCRIPTION: Supply Chain & Operations Manager - Adhesives / Technical ConsumablesAs the Supply Chain & Operations Manager your over-riding responsibility is to ensure the seamless receivership and delivery of products to customers. However, your role will be much more inclusive and diverse than that. Reporting directly to the MD you will make up part of the senior management team and act as a sounding board on all key issues.In addition, you will:
  • Take full responsibility of the Supply chain – from purchasing raw materials to product leaving manufacturing – to being received by the customer
  • Maintain key relationships with 3PL, logistics/courier providers, warehousing and other suppliers (health & safety, fleet cars, insurance, legal, security)
  • Liaise with the sales team on new projects assessing feasibility, providing a balanced view of risk/suitability
  • Manage various direct reports and carry out regular 1-2-1’s and ensure all staff under your remit have clear achievable goals. (Warehouse, Customer service, IT and purchasing)
  • Hold regular 1-2-1 meetings with suppliers and ensure all contracts and SLA agreements are upheld.
  • When necessary be customer facing
    • PERSON SPECIFICATION: Supply Chain & Operations Manager - Adhesives / Technical ConsumablesIt is vital that applicants have a keen work ethic and hold a strong set of values. We work hard and we want people to join our team who are hardworking and who are excited about being productive and profitable.In addition to these qualities, we would like the following:
  • Some further education in Science (Chemistry ideally)
  • Strong demonstrable experience of people management at a senior level
  • Experience of a technical consumable manufacturing operation such as (Coatings, Adhesives, Paints, Resins, Abrasives, Inks)
  • Experience of working alongside a Laboratory, either directly or indirectly
  • Project managements experience, ideally holding either a prince 2 or Lean qualification
  • Strong Budget Experience, P&L, Cost Centre responsibility
    • In addition, we would also be keen any of the below:
  • Qualification in business
  • Experience in using excel to at least and intermediate level
  • Vast customer service experience
  • Any Financial / Sales / Marketing / Commercial training
    • For us both to be successful:Ultimately you will have been a successful Head of Purchasing, Head of Supply Chain or Operations Manager, someone who above the normal requirements enjoys playing an active role in the business. Use data to influence and aid decisions.
