Job Description

Senior Payroll AdministratorWarringtonThe Optionis Group is one of the UK’s most successful professional services companies, and we are looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to support our Payroll Manager in ensuring the accuracy of our Payroll service to external employeesWhat we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of current payroll legislation and ability to interpret and develop as policy to inform service
  • Ability to manage a quality service
  • Demonstrable understanding of pension processes
  • Experience of change management and implementing new payroll systems
  • An ability to resolve inquiries from external employees
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Flexible and logical approach to all payroll related issues and processing
  • Responsibilities within the role include but arent limited to:
  • Support the Payroll Manager in the operation of payroll processes, reconciliations and assisting with the development and implementation of improvements.
  • Responsible for ensuring payrolls are accurate and executed within agreed service levels.
  • Implementing, maintaining and auditing controls to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and errors are mitigated in the payroll function including completing the monthly audits
  • Monthly reconciliation of pension and AOE
  • Participation as aide to Head of Payroll of project-based work relating to the wider Group that requires technical payroll input.
  • Keeping up to date with technical and legislative developments in payroll or impacting payroll.
  • Implement new procedures to ensure continuous improvement within the department.
  • Support junior team members with any identified training needs.
  • Support team members regarding query escalation and resolution.
  • To improve service delivery for clients/employees and accountants
  • Investigate HMRC Specified Charges and appeal HMRC Penalty Notices and resolve complex queries with HMRC
  • Ownership of the tax year end tasks/project for payroll
