Job Description

Senior Credit Controller Warrington £28,000 The Senior Credit Controller is responsible for managing the debts of the business by overseeing all debts owed to the company from existing creditors whilst ensuring Sales Ledger is excellently maintained. This role requires building and maintaining strong relationships to support payments in line with terms to support your ability to accurately forecast incoming receipts.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:A Credit Controllers daily duties will include the following activities:

  • Proactively managing the debtor portfolio, collecting overdue and ensuring timely payment of debts in line with payment terms, actively chasing by telephone and email.
  • Preparation & issue of statement runs twice monthly.
  • Responsible for evaluating customer credit limits, new business applications and current customer portfolio mitigating risk to the business.
  • Order to Cash management, aligned to suitable Credit Limits, escalating accounts and agree preventative action, minimising risk to the business.
  • Receipt Management, online banking, cash posting, cash allocation & Cash Forecasting are essential elements of the role.
  • Regular engagement with the Billing Team to reduce billing errors to facilitate prompt payments.
  • To manage and oversee prompt dispute resolution within agreed SLA to maximise cash flow.
  • Undertake and complete account reconciliations when required.
  • To work in liaison with Purchase Ledger month on month, for the timely completion of all accounts with contra arrangements.
  • Complete the month end close down procedures and reporting in line with business protocol.
  • Look for Continuous Improvement opportunities providing tangible benefits.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects when assigned & providing administrative support to the team.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile complex accounts.
  • Accuracy, efficiency and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed.
  • Professional, confident, diplomatic and possess the art of negotiation when liaising with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships driving good outcomes.
  • Possesses the ability to manage data in Excel, whilst Sage experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Willingness to embrace the company values in order to support excellent customer service culture with the customer at the heart of all decision making.
  • Preferred but not essential, qualified or studying CICM.
