Job Description

The Resource Planning Manager provides the right people for the right jobs, at the right time for the Consulting Business. The Resource Planning Manager is a pivotal role in optimising distribution of workload and deployment of personnel, maximising profitabilityand chargeable hours and managing and overseeing joiners, leavers and secondments.Client DetailsOne of the worlds leading engineering companies which helps customers to use electrical power effectively and to increase industrial productivity in a sustainable way; provides value-added solutions in robotics, machine and factory automation and has around20 locations in UK.For the 2nd year running has been recognised as a Top Employer in UK.DescriptionAccountabilities for this role include:

  • Providing critical analysis and insight of business metrics, including chargeable hours, utilisation, capacity, and then proactively driving resourcing decisions and positive behaviours.
  • Collating and validating forecast contract, overhead and holiday manhours provided by the operations teams to facilitate effective decision making.
  • Timely and accurate approval of timesheets and associated costs for staff, temporary workers and suppliers (e.g. Fircroft, INOPC), developing a deep understanding of local procedures to streamline the recruitment process.
  • Supporting the development of competency matrices within the Consulting business, promoting internal development of personnel, efficient cross working and removal of skills silos.
  • Developing a level of flexibility and agility in the Consulting resource model to allow timely response to new / unplanned customer requests as work is won.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to deliver creative resourcing solutions and managing any issues (e.g. delays in projects starting, conflicts or staff shortages on assignments) with the Solution Group Managers.
  • Review the software applications available internally and in the market to allow effective resource management and forecasting.
