Job Description

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is looking for the next step in your careerThis is a great opportunity to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor who are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cheshire. They have been established for over 50 years and specialise in construction, engineering, large scale infrastructureand multi-million pound frameworks, working on a variety of projects that can be valued in excess of £100m.The company work across multiple sectors including the healthcare, education, residential and leisure, as well as large scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects.Whats on offerThe company are offering exciting career opportunities and provide a fully funded continual professional development program to help you achieve your RICS chartership, as well as an attractive salary and full permanent package.The role - Quantity Surveyor Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team reporting into the Senior QS and Commercial Manager on all commercial aspects of a £50m healthcare project in Warrington.Duties & Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
  • Cost reporting.
  • Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client.
  • Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement.
  • Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
  • Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
  • Manage prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations, claims and disputes.
  • Identify, manage, reduce, and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.
  • Monitor and manage subcontract costs to ensure that the project meets and/or exceeds targets.
  • Monitor resources and costs to ensure that the project meets and / or exceeds targets, including but not limited to the scheduling of labour resources.
Required skills/knowledge:
  • A degree/equivalent qualification (HNC/HND).
  • At least 5 years experience in a QS position.
  • Have experience working on similar projects.
  • Have a strong Main Contractor background.
