Project Manager for a growing engineering comapny. The role is based in Warrington.Client DetailsOur client is a growing engineering services and contract management company based in Warrington. They specialise in delivering "turnkey" project and equipment upgrades. .DescriptionAs the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing a team of chemical, mechanical and electrical engineers. You will be trusted to build your team with regards to recruitment, well-being and technical development to ensure the department meets theneeds of our clients, whilst complying with our company quality guidelines and procedures.A fundamental requirement of this position is the ability to clearly understand project briefs and effectively establish, plan and co-ordinate the resources required from your department to successfully complete technical and innovative, energy and air pollutioncontrol projects.As our contracts manager you must have excellent management skills and be technically strong, so that you are able to problem solve complex technical issues and offer support to other areas of the business.Reporting directly to the managing director, the main responsibilities, essential criteria, desirable knowledge and skills, for this position are:* Manage project tender activity, in line with our business procedures. Providing technical support to the sales team and ensuring that compliant sub supplier tenders are issued and sub supplier bids which are received are tender compliant.* Manage the overall project engineering activity, in line with our business procedures. Ensuring that all projects are delivered professionally, whilst providing the agreed turnover and profit levels, to meet the companies growth ambitions.* Manage internal and external engineering resource to ensure that all project stakeholders are aware of their role and responsibilities, to enable successful, on time project delivery.* Establish and create project plans and budgets based on initial project parameters, maintaining overall responsibility for maintaining project plans, project turnover, profit levels, documentation, adherence to company QA, engineering standards and externallegislation.* Provide, maintain and develop technical project engineering support (Flow sheets and P&ID development, functional design specifications, equipment/system design and specifications, conceptual design development, design risk assessment, HAZOP, process engineeringcalculations, site surveying and technical reporting).* Provide, maintain and develop project based safe systems of work and overall project health and safety requirements. * Manage the performance and success of customer relationships with a view to optimising future opportunities.* Ensure that all engineering reviews are conducted on a monthly basis in line with company standards and to take appropriate action to address budgetary and/or technical challenges identified.* Establish clear objectives for all direct reports and formally monitor.ProfileEssential Criteria* Chemical or mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent.* Proven experience of working in a project management role covering multidisciplinary projects (process, mechanical and electrical). * Experience of working with main contractors, EPCs or large subcontractors.* The individual will be capable of managing senior and junior level individuals across multiple disciplines and have extensive, demonstrable people management experience.* Must be fluent in quantitative heat and mass balance calculations.* Experience working to CDM 2015 regulations and guidelines.* Experience of delivering large scale projects.* Willingness to travel throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and Europe (when required).* Good communication and organisation skills.* Presentable appearance.* Can do, positive attitude.* Team player.Desirable Knowledge & Skills* Knowledge of air pollution control systems (thermal oxidisers, electrostatic precipitators, condensation & coalescing techniques, wet scrubbers, carbon adsorbers, bio filtration and bio trickling filters).* Knowledge of process drying (impingement, floatation and through air dryers).* Knowledge of dust extraction systems.* Knowledge of electrical system design.* Knowledge of software system design.Job OfferExcellent salary (permanent - not hourly or daily rate), and career development plan.
