Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and clinically skilled senior nurse to join our existing team of Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialists at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will need to have experience within colorectal cancer or surgery and will need to demonstrate extensive leadership skills.The Trust has implemented the national optimal pathway for suspected colorectal cancers and the successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, undertaking nurse led clinics and straight to test telephone assessment clinics to facilitate our straight to test pathway.The Trust is a pilot site for symptomatic Faecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT) in both high and low risk patients and the post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in the evaluation and shaping of pathways to support this innovation.The post holder will provide expert clinical and supportive care for patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer and work with the Multidisciplinary Team and wider teams in supporting patients throughout their treatment pathway, providing individualised, compassionate and informed patient care.This is a challenging and demanding role and requires a proactive, self-motivated, dedicated person who is capable of managing complex care pathways across multiple agencies and services to ensure the highest quality of care and service delivery for all patients. You will have excellent clinical, communication and decision making skills, be able to manage your own work load and have problem solving skills.
