Our client, a market leader within the Utilities industry, is looking to recruit a Cloud Hosting Platform Services Manager, to work at their offices at Lingley Mere Business Park in Great Sankey, Warrington. The role is based at their fantastic head office, where successful candidates will have access to a variety of onsite facilities including free parking, on-site gym, restaurant and Coffee Shop. There is also a free shuttle bus running from the town centre of Warrington. You will manage a dynamic team of 12 engineers responsible for build, provisioning, support, maintenance, availability and the lifecycle management of IT infrastructure and associated technologies underpinning the business current and future IT strategy. Services include, but not limited to storage, hosting platforms (on-premises, off-premises and cloud), virtualisation, operating systems, backup and recovery, infrastructure software and tools. Accountabilities* Ensure hosting infrastructure and associated platforms services are reliable and their availability 24/7/365, where applicable.* Ensure health, safety and wellbeing framework is embedded in all activities in accordance with health and safety guidelines. * Responsible for the financial business plan including the management of effective forecasting and management to LBE taking into account their overall impact on Digital Operations in totality.* Establish and facilitate a culture of innovation to maximise assets and service efficiency, service improvements including automation and cost optimisation.* Escalation point for incidents associated or related to platform hosting services. * Maintain and publish a catalogue of capabilities, technical skills and services provided.* Impact new service requirements against existing skillsets, required training, tools, support, maintainability, processes and procedures, and operability. * Create and maintain a technology lifecycle roadmap that capture end of support life and replacement technology. * Work with architecture, ITDAM, IT security and supply chain to ensure that all software products, software options/modules and tools are approved for deployment and fully licensed prior to installation. * Undertaking regular 1-2-1 performance reviews with team members, ensuring development plans are in place, monitoring progress and any concerns addressed in a timely manner. Knowledge and Skills* Ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities and workloads balancing between urgency, risk and business value to effectively manage time.* Excellent communicator, written and verbal, with the ability to write creative, engaging copy following tone of voice guidelines. * Excellent planning, organisational and delivery skills that demonstrate a strong grasp of stakeholder, community and customer management. * Experience in applying, IT principles, concepts, methods, and practices in order to develop and interpret procedures and strategies for the planning and delivery of services. * Financial management skills including budget control, planning and monitoring. * Methodical approach to facilitate problem solving and remediation.Desirable Criteria* Excellent understand of data networking technologies and protocols.* Good knowledge and understanding of current and emerging data storage technologies and capabilities, including data and system backup technologies (Veeam, IBM Spectrum Suite, EMC DDBoost) and capabilities (both on-premises and cloud based). * Technical knowledge and understanding of Operating Systems.* Excellent technical knowledge of hosting technologies including Cloud and Hybrid deployments. * Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and product portfolio (e.g. MS AD, DNS, DHCP, MS SQL, Exchange, etc.)* Excellent technical knowledge of current virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and awareness of emerging capabilities.PLEASE NOTE:Should your application be successful, and you are offered the role, a number of pre-employment checks need to be carried out before your appointment can be confirmed.
