Exciting Opportunity for Wills, Trusts & Probate Enthusiast in Hertford. You may already hold STEP membership, be in the process of acquiring the qualification, or have a strong desire to work towards it (though its not essential). Your role will includehandling clients from all walks of life, from modest to high net worth, as well as older clients. Adaptability, motivation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are key.What Youll Be Doing:Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing a range of legal documents, from basic to complex Wills, LPAs, and PoAs.
  • Managing Probate and estate administration, from smaller estates to high-value taxable ones.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of trusts and taxation related to trusts.
  • Administering estates in cases of intestacy, with a grasp of intestacy rules and procedures.
  • Collaborating with the Planning Team for complex matters.
  • Balancing office and remote work, with the freedom to take initiative.
  • Networking and contributing to business development opportunities.

Role Overview:Your day-to-day will involve:
  • Document preparation, including Wills, LPAs, and PoAs, ranging from basic to complex.
  • Focus on Probate and estate administration, covering small to large taxable estates and seeking tax reliefs.
  • Handling intestate estates with a solid understanding of related rules.
  • Proficiency in trusts and tax principles for integration into Wills and potential lifetime establishment.
  • Familiarity with Life Interest trusts & Discretionary trusts.
  • Process for consolidating the latter during estate administration.
  • Awareness and some experience with issues affecting elderly clients.
  • Experience in matters related to the Court of Protection and Deputyship, though its less emphasised in this role. (Desirable)
