Job Description

Site Name: UK - Hertfordshire - WarePosted Date: Jun 16 2020The Engineering function at the Ware Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (PSC) site provides maintenance and expertise on production, automation and controls equipment used to produce high quality pharmaceutical products, including the Ellipta inhaler. Engineering is a critical support function to all manufacturing activities at the site, and the department is highly skilled and ambitious.We are seeking a driven Engineer to join our team based in Ware (Hertfordshire), within a talented and motivated team. You will report into a Shift Engineer and will perform a wide range of engineering tasks and duties, to include corrective and preventative maintenance on production and support equipment, continuous improvement activities, problem solving and fault finding. These activities play a crucial part in ensuring the delivery of the site’s commercial objectives.The specific responsibilities of the role include critical and non-critical maintenance of equipment across the whole manufacturing site. This extends to problem solving, breakdown communication and resolution, spares allocation, providing knowledge for the creation of relevant documentation and project works, continuous improvement idea generation and implementation and use of relevant technology to the role (e.g. M-ERP, BMS, IP21). You will work alongside fellow engineers, contractors, suppliers and consultants to deliver a range of engineering-related activities to agreed levels of quality, cost, time and tangible benefit. The role requires a close working relationship with the production, quality and technical functions across the site, as well as with Mitie engineering services, particularly out of hours.PLEASE NOTE: The Ware site runs manufacturing operations 7 days per week. This role is within the site’s negotiated roles and is a shift-based position, currently on a 24/7 - 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights) with 15-minute handover, long rotation pattern. The shift pattern is subject to change according to business requirements.About You: This role would suit an enthusiastic and hard-working individual, who consistently demonstrates high levels of integrity and courage and is eager to learn. The team control multiple platforms across all areas of the site, and therefore interpersonal skills and effective time management are essential. Engineers have personal accountability for their work and are encouraged to gain a broad understanding of associated equipment to aid rapid and detailed problem solving. You will need to be highly team-orientated and focused on delivering against common objectives under time-pressured circumstances with critical outcomes in production and have a strong continuous improvement mindset. Ideally you will have worked in a highly regulated industry and have proven experience dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.About Ware Manufacturing Site:Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life-saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.PLEASE NOTE: A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential. You must have passed the Operator Assessment Kit (OAK) test standard to the required level or successfully pass the online OAK’s equivalent (This will be issued out by email to appropriately experienced / qualified candidates).
