Job Description

Carer/support worker needed for 2 clients that one will be expected to alternate between.

  • Personal care: Assist with personal hygiene, showering, washing assistance with using the toilet, assistance with incontinence inch. Pads.
  • Support with eating and drinking: Ensuring that clients are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet and the correct quantities, prepared meals look appetising and make sure the way they eat is appropriate for the client
  • Assisting with shopping on request
  • Assist with mobility wheelchair if needed
  • Domestic duties: Cleaning, emptying bins, washing where requested
  • Record keeping: MAR chart (for medication), log book (recording each visit to communicate to the next carer), care plan updates.
  • Providing emotional support to individuals.
In addition to caring duties as a support worker one will be responsible for the following duties
  • Supporting and monitoring their healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks.
  • Supporting clients to pursue hobbies and interests.
  • Supporting the learning of new skills.
  • Helping with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, writing a shopping list, going shopping or maintaining the household cleaning
  • Helping them to access community facilities
  • Understanding their communication needs and adapting your communication to each individual, e.g. sounds, tones, body language. Supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge.
  • Working with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support.
  • Analysing an individuals needs and offer person centred care.
