Field Service Engineer ( Mechanical with an understanding of electrical Connection and fault finding) required .The candidate will work at 3 sites in the Waltham Abbey area and one near Cambridge, maintaining Gas Engines (generating sets) and all Auxiliaries involved at Power plant installations in commercial greenhouse grower sites. The candidate would also be willing to very occasionally travel to a site in Kent to fill in for other employees’ absence/ holidays etc. The candidate would be given two to three months training on the machinery depending on experience before they are able to work independently. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has performed a similar role with heavy engines/gensets, perhaps in the marine and/or energy sectors.Highly organised and self-motivated, you are someone who can adopt routine procedures and who has an attention for detail.There is also a requirement to enter into a weekend call out rota (1 weekend in 3). Duties of the Maintenance Engineer will include: • Routine servicing of equipment, including gas engine, generator, CO2 Catalyst and heat recovery systems. • Breakdown repairs. • Fault finding on equipment. • Identification of parts required to resolve fault issues. • Completion of Record Documentation and Job Sheets. The Field Service Engineer will report to the Service Manager and respond to company remote Service Desk and will be able to communicate well at all levels, with Directors, other work colleagues, suppliers and customers. You should have prior experience in this type of work and be qualified to a minimum of ONC / City and Guilds in mechanical engineering (Mechanically bias preferred). You should have a full clean driving licence and be computer literate, being competent in the use of Excel/Word/Outlook. Anyone with experience of the following engine types will be of particular interest:Cummins, Jenbacher, CAT, Man, Deutz, MTU.Basic salary of £32000-£34000 pa with a further £6000 pa earned through payments for on call standby duty and overtime payments on out of hours call out. Full time hours are 8 per day, normally 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Holidays are 25 pa plus statutory and the client contributes 3% to the employee’s 1% for Pension.
