Job Description

Location: Handsworth, Birmingham Daily Rate: £90 - £100 (dependent on experience) Job Type: Fixed-term contract (September 2024 - July 2025)About Us: At Reed Education, we are dedicated to connecting passionate individuals with rewarding roles in education. Currently, we are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Handsworth, Birmingham. Thisposition offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on a childs educational journey.Role Overview:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored one-to-one support to a year 3 child with special educational needs, particularly autism. Working closely with the classroom teacher, you will implement individual learning plans and create a nurturingenvironment conducive to the childs growth and development.Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized one-to-one support to a child with autism, ensuring access to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement individual learning plans.
  • Monitor and adapt support strategies based on the childs progress.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and social integration.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding the childs development.
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a SEN capacity.
  • Understanding of the educational and social needs of children with autism.
  • Ability to build rapport with children and adapt to individual learning requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging approach.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs are desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
