Job Description

Are you an experienced Payroll professional with a knack for precision and leadership We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join our clients dynamic team on an interim basis, with the potential for permanency. If you thrive in a hybridworking environment and possess expertise in managing diverse payrolls, we want to hear from you!Position: Payroll ManagerSalary: £40,000 - £42,000Location: Hybrid working - Walsall, BirminghamContract: Interim (2 months) with potential for permanencyWorking Hours: Flexible hours (between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm), 37.5 hours per weekStart Date: ImmediateRole Overview: As the Payroll Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising the payroll processes. With a team to lead and a variety of payrolls to manage, this is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professionalto make a significant impact.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise a dedicated team, providing guidance and support, with 1 direct report (Payroll Officer).
  2. Payroll Management: Oversee the end-to-end processing of 3 payrolls, including 2 monthly and 1 weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  3. Compliance Assurance: Stay abreast of changes in payroll laws and regulations, implementing necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
  4. Process Optimisation: Implement and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations.
  5. Data Security: Maintain the highest standards of data security, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of payroll information.
  6. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and issues, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  7. Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyse payroll reports, providing insights to senior management and contributing to strategic decision-making.
  8. Technology Integration: Leverage payroll systems and technology to streamline processes, exploring opportunities for integration with other HR and financial systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in a managerial payroll position.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in overseeing multiple payrolls with varying frequencies.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • CIPP qualification or equivalent is desirable.
