About the RoleThe Society is investing in a multi-million pound mortgage transformation programme which will facilitate our growth ambitions, bringing benefits to customers, brokers and their clients as well as our colleagues. To support this we will be launching a brandnew Scrum team.Delivered in partnership with Newcastle Strategic Solutions Limited, our brand new digital proposition will replace our current mortgage origination platform. The new originations platform, which will be completed in 2024 will deliver iterative improvementsto our services through agile delivery. The new proposition will make it faster and easier for brokers and customers to do business with us. The programme follows a User Centred Design approach, engaging brokers, customers and colleagues at every stage andthe cloud native build utilises modern tech tooling and practices.Were looking for a technical and experienced Solutions Architect with a passion for problem solving and working within IT and Digital environments.The Solutions Architect will play a significant role in working across various teams to develop architectural solutions. As a Solutions Architect you will understand not just the IT needs of the business but also the business needs and the overall impactproposed robust, resilient and secure solutions will have on the performance of the business.About YouThe Solutions Architect will be required to understand the overarching strategy and develop IT solutions assuring the technical integrity. Developing a strong relationship with all areas of IT and Digital is essential, including building a deep technicalknowledge and understanding of existing systems architecture, systems and business process. This knowledge will inform the resilience of future architectural changes and improvements.Solutions will be well-defined and considered, forming the baseline for technical delivery in accordance with architectural governance. It is essential that the system solutions meet business and client needs, with a clear ability to quickly identify constraintsand opportunities. Providing architectural guidance and clarity to the Scrum teams and IT department as a whole is key to ensure successful implementation of such designs and completion of projects. When required, there will be a responsibility to review proposalsfrom vendors and suppliers to make sure selection is heavily analysed and meets business needs.The Solutions Architect will also be responsible for identifying existing and emerging risks related to the implementation and ensure that such risks are mitigated.With experience in mobile architecture and development, preferably experience within the Cloud utilising Azure, this role will join us on our journey in the delivery of one of our new Digital product offerings, our Savings app. This will involve examiningand evolving current technical and business architectural designs to ensure future iterations are well implemented, with an accountability of the overall product architecture.You will have the ability to challenge effectively and constructively, whilst driving best practise, both personally and with your colleagues, ensuring clear, well-informed and focused presentation of output to key stakeholders and clients at varying levels.Youll be an excellent communicator, innovative and self-motived, with a positive approach to team work.About UsNewcastle Strategic Solutions is the UKs leading savings management platform and one of the North Easts most established and successful FinTechs!
