Job Description

About the RoleThe Society is investing in a multi-million pound mortgage transformation programme which will facilitate our growth ambitions, bringing benefits to customers, brokers and their clients as well as our colleagues. To support this we will be launching a brandnew Scrum team.Delivered in partnership with Newcastle Strategic Solutions Limited, our brand new digital proposition will replace our current mortgage origination platform. The new originations platform, which will be completed in 2024 will deliver iterative improvementsto our services through agile delivery. The new proposition will make it faster and easier for brokers and customers to do business with us. The programme follows a User Centred Design approach, engaging brokers, customers and colleagues at every stage andthe cloud native build utilises modern tech tooling and practices.Were looking for an experienced Product Owner with a genuine passion for Digital. The Product Owner will take ownership of a financial services product within our Digital Portfolio and be accountable for a seamless user experience, product vision, continuousimprovement and success measurements.There will be a requirement to create, maintain and own a compelling insight driven, customer centered product roadmap, with the considerations of the end user needs, business and client requirements, and to clearly communicate the priorities, directionand future aspirations of the product. The Product Owner will be a team player within the Digital team; collaborating with the UX team and the multi-disciplined development team whilst prioritising, grooming and taking ownership of the product backlog. Drivingsuccessful iterative change as an output is key.It is essential there is a strong advocacy of the end user, whilst also understanding the context of the wider business and industry and the client need.About YouThe Product Owner will conduct best practise and have experience within the Digital space, with a desire to constructively challenge to achieve the best outcomes and drive the product success.The role requires an organised and self-motivated approach, with an ability to develop strong working relationships to gain requirements, and buy-in to product vision. Excellent communication is a must; being able to work effectively as a team player ina Scrum team, yet produce well-informed and focussed presentation and articulation of a clear message to stakeholders and clients at varying levels.It is key that the Product Owner proactively develops a strong and deep knowledge of the organisation, end users and client base, as well as understanding the product inside-out including technical concepts.About UsNewcastle Strategic Solutions is the UKs leading savings management platform and one of the North Easts most established and successful FinTechs!
