Job Description

Job Advert: Year 6 Class TeacherLocation: Tingley, WakefieldAre you a dedicated and passionate educator looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Year 6 students We are seeking a Year 6 Class Teacher to join one of our schools on a maternity cover basis starting in March. If you havea strong commitment to education, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate young learners, we want to hear from you!Position Overview:As a Year 6 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education to Year 6 students during a crucial period of their academic journey. You will play a pivotal role in preparing them for their SATs examinations while fostering a positiveand engaging learning environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons in accordance with the Year 6 curriculum.
  • Prepare students for their Year 6 SATs examinations, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and school leadership as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom that supports a positive learning experience.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Year 6 students, including preparation for SATs.
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Effective communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
