FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHSWest Yorkshire and Harrogate (WY&H) has a diverse population, with different health and social care needs. We believe that for the majority of services, these needs are best met on a local level through closer partnership working. WY&H Unpaid Carers is a nationally recognised programme which aspires to ensure carers are recognised and given the support they need to both manage their caring role and remain in work/education, no matter where they live in West Yorkshire and Harrogate. There are an estimated 260,000 unpaid carers living in West Yorkshire and Harrogate, including children and young people caring for family members and/or friends with frailty, long-term health conditions, mental health conditions or substance misuse. The West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership is currently developing a system wide People Plan which will be representative of all the health and care sectors in WY&H including recognising the huge contribution unpaid carers bring to the workforce. One of the outcomes of the NHSE People Plan is greater recognition and support for working carers. To support these outcomes, we are looking for an experienced programme manager to make a difference to the lives of unpaid carers and support the ambitions of the West Yorkshire & Harrogate People Plan. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the delivery of these key programmes of the work. Working in partnership with stakeholders across our health and care system, this role will be pivotal to making demonstrable improvements on behalf of all organisations within the WY & H Partnership. If you are interested in the role and think you have the right experience and abilities as detailed in the job description, please contact Pam Sheppard at for an informal discussion.
