Job Description

Transport Planner - Wakefield - £24k - £26k + excellent benefitsOur client is a well-established Transport company based in Wakefield; due to their continues success they are expanding their team and recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner.Responsibilities include:

  • Running domestic vehicles and dealing with driver queries.
  • Planning duties as required in peak times / holiday cover
  • Understanding of all roles within the transport department with view to being able to effectively operate within all roles.
  • Building domestic jobs.
  • Assist National Manager with compliance, R&M duties including managing driver defects / walk around checks.
  • Assist with enquiries from colleagues, subcontractors and drivers in a timely / effective manner.
  • Communicate operational issues in a timely / effective manner.
  • Adhere to all legal requirements and company rules.
    • Skills and qualifications required:
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • GCSE in Maths & English.
  • Good communication & customer service skills.
  • Some experience from a similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure & cope during high volume peaks.
  • Good team player with ability to work on individual tasks.
  • Ambitious with a view to progress within the company
