Job Description

Stock ManagerThis is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the London Stock Exchange Group’s Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2020.Conservatory Outlet Ltd is an industry-leading manufacturer of home improvement products spanning contemporary extensions, conservatories, orangeries, roofs, glass, windows and doors in both uPVC and aluminium.Part of a £40m+ turnover Group that also owns and runs two of the North’s most successful retail installers, we’re proud to have been awarded Manufacturer of the Year’ status at the Wakefield Business Awards.You will be responsible for ensuring the right stock at the right price is in place to meet production needs. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate prices, goods are delivered and booked in and all invoices are matched and accurate. You will work with both the Purchasing and Finance Teams to assist with any queries.You will be responsible for site stock management, keeping the right stock quantities on the deck.You will understand and align the in-house stock system, ensuring that all costs are accurate and fix any price discrepancies. You will be responsible for reviewing FOC orders for supplier returns and devising new procedures if required.You will have the ability to "Make it Happen". You will have excellent planning, communication and organisational skills. You will make good decisions and solve problems, be a strong team player and leader, driven to meet deadlines, with a focus on spend, accuracy and stock levels. You will be highly motivated, with a "can-do" approach, enthusiastic and committed. You will know what it takes to achieve targets - and you’ll have the motivation to achieve the results the company expects.We expect you to be driven and motivated to control the company spend and stock, keeping the stock in line with business needs and ensuring suppliers offer competitive prices. This is a fast-paced and evolving department, so be prepared to adapt well to change and suggest new improvements and ideas that will further support the growth of the business.Your key responsibilities and activities will include:·Ensure that a system is in place for collating delivery notes from all our suppliers;·Ensure that a process is in place for collating missing delivery notes;·Devise and implement an improved process for obtaining POD’s from suppliers for deliveries direct to our dealers;·Implement a robust stock control system which maintains the correct stock levels, meets production needs and reduces shortages;·To work with the Purchasing and Finance departments to identify and implement improvements to systems and reporting procedures;·To work closely with all the relevant teams to ensure all stock levels are kept up to date and stock levels are continuously updated to reflect the business needs;·To introduce a new PO Authorisation document and ensure the correct usage;·To manage monthly stock take counts, ensure that stock take sheets / tablets are prepared and issued in a timely manner and the completed sheets / tablets are returned to the purchasing and finance teams.Person Attributes:·Experience of the window industry with sound working knowledge and experience of working in a similar role in a fast-moving company would be an advantage;·Excellent Stock Controller experience with the ability to implement new initiatives and effective processes to manage products & timescales;·Strong IT skills, with knowledge or stock and pricing systems;·Excellent working knowledge of Lean Stock Management is essential;·Excellent planning and organisational skills with a disciplined approach and the ability to follow processes and produce measurable results;·The ability to demonstrate effective time management;·Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with managers, employees, customers and suppliers;·You should be an assertive, confident, determined individual with the ability to manage a team and gain respect from colleagues;·Excellent people management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor your team and undertake regular reviews with individuals;·The ability to ensure processes are adhered to and results are delivered and measured in a timely and effective manner.Please send your CV and covering letter advising your salary expectations and why you are a suitable candidate.
