The wider digital services team is growing, building and running the platforms and products that we already have plus the new ones on the horizon. Collaborating with others to develop solutions for NHS SBS employees and customers, as part of the Product team, you will be responsible for delivering the product roadmap for NHS SBS, reducing technical debt and removing bugs.The team provide software development skills at a subsystem level and work together taking responsibility to specify, develop and test the sub-system to agreed standards and quality practices. Responsible for delivering specialist services which involve the choice and application of diverse processes, systems and techniques or for supervising staff delivering a broad range of servicesKey Responsibilities:

  • Produce software component designs and specifications.
  • Deliver software components and test the components.
  • Create test data and testing environments for unit and link testing.
  • Undertake integration testing including assisting in the production of test plans.
  • Ensure appropriate software configuration management activities for development deliverables in line with the software configuration management process.
  • To carry out audits and participate in technical walkthroughs of other team members’ components, test plans and results.
  • Required Skills:You need to have:
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a Software Engineer on small or medium sized software engineering projects.
  • Practices and Principles (TDD & SOLID, Git & CICD and secure coding)
  • RESTful Web API’s (C# / ASP.Net Core, Entity Framework, OData)
  • Web apps (HTML5 & CSS3, Javascript / Typescript and Single Page Application frameworks such as Angular
  • Create & Build Software Design software component
  • Conduct unit, link, integrationtesting and support UAT
  • It would be great if you had:
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps ways of working
  • Engineering Cloud (Azure) solutions
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 dev ecosystem
  • Understanding of SSO - OAuth2/OIDC or SAML2
