Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who is keen to expand on their Serious Injury experience.Is client care at the heart of all you do and do you want to make a difference to a clients recovery Do you want to work in an established team that is growing each day due to the volume of high quality workIf so, this could be your next role!We are looking for a Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our Serious Injury team dealing with Multi Track value cases, now is an exciting time to join and be part of our growth plans!About YouIdeally you will be a Grade C qualified solicitor, a Fellow of CILEx or have equivalent experience in a similar Personal Injury role. We also welcome applications form Trainee Solicitors who are due to qualify this year or NQs if you can demonstrate a level of handling Multi Track competency. Youll have strong communication skills and will be an excellent negotiator with good objection handling skills.It is essential in this role that you are organised with good time management skills, youll be proactive and work well in a fast-paced environment. Youll be target driven, positive and enthusiastic, whilst keeping the client and the heart of everything you do.The Serious Injury department services the most vulnerable of our clients, often with life changing injuries. As a team we work together to achieve the best outcome for each of our clients and make a different to their lives.About the RoleIn this role you will be handling a serious injury caseload, predominantly RTA based and it is anticipated you will deal with cases valued up to GBP 50,000.Daily duties will include:

  • Dealing with cases of complexity, causation arguments, and denials of liability with minimal supervision.
  • Assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law.
  • Drafting schedules of special damages and assessing suitable awards for compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity, and other general damages.
  • Drafting Court proceedings, dealing with allocation questionnaires, adhering to court directions and timescales, preparing relevant documents for disclosure, submitting evidence and instructing Counsel/other appropriate experts as required.
