Job Description

Join our vibrant team at Accelerate Teaching and make a real difference in the lives of students at a Secondary School in Wakefield. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join us as soon as possible.About Accelerate Teaching:

The Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing one-to-one support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborating with other members of the school staff and external professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Experience Required:
  • Previous experience working with students with SEND is essential for this role.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and respond effectively to challenges.
