Our primary school in Featherstone, just on the outskirts of Pontefract have SEN education at theforefront, and were seeking exceptional SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team.Your Role: As a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant in our Junior Schools, your responsibilities go beyond classroom support and extend to all aspects of school life. You will play a pivotal role in:

  • Supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to each childs specific needs.
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of tailored learning strategies, with a particular focus on phonics support for children who require it.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and can thrive.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support, helping students develop essential academic and life skills.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, ensuring that interventions are effective and making necessary adjustments.
  • Attending SEN meetings and participating in professional development to stay up to date with best practices and approaches.
  • Collaborating with other teaching assistants to share knowledge and strategies for supporting SEN students.
