Job Description

SEN TeacherEngage Education are currently working in partnership with a special needs school on an exciting new teaching vacancy in Wakefield. This is to start immediately and will be for 1 term in the first instance, so you can make sure it’s the right fit for you!As a SEN Teacher based in these highly complex settings, you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons for a small group of 6 children. Working as a SEN teacher requires a holistic approach, focusing on the whole child, academic developmentis only possible when you address the primary need first. You will work with the schools multidisciplinary therapy team, helping students find ways to do the things they need and want to do. These opportunities will suit teachers who have a passion and naturalability to engage hard to reach pupils and those with strong classroom presence. You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, therapeutic, and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning to help them reach their fullpotential.Your Role:

  • Delivering lessons to learners with ADHD and ASD
  • Working with support staff to engage pupils in class
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
