Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting the next generation of scientists Accelerate Teaching, a leading educational agency working with a Secondary School in Wakefield, is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join our dynamic team. This is an excitingopportunity to contribute to the advancement of science education and make a real difference in the lives of students.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments.
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering practical science sessions, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, chemicals, and other resources.
  • Manage the storage and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Support teachers in the development and delivery of innovative science projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the science laboratories.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school or laboratory setting is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to laboratory environments.
  • A genuine passion for science education and inspiring young learners.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with students and staff.
