Job Description

We are currently working on a number of fixed-term Programme Manager positions for our public sector clients based in Wakefield. The post will run until March 2022, paying between £40,000 to £42,000.Client DetailsOur client is an award-winning public sector organisation who are looking to recruit several Programme Managers for various programmes which will be undertaken over the next several months, based from their Wakefield offices. They are currently offering home-working (to be reviewed in September), and once the office re-opens they are able to offer free on-site parking and are accessible from Leeds. This post will be working closely with the Programme Leads, as well as a number of Programme Coordinators and support staff.DescriptionThe Programme Managers will play a key role in the development and delivery of the various programmes and projects being undertaken by the organisation. For this role, you will be supporting the delivery of programmes to introduce innovative practices, products, and services into health and care organisations, as well as supporting SMEs and entrepreneurs to develop their innovations.Responsibilities will include:

  • Working on a variety of programmes at any given time, you will manage key priorities effectively and keep all stakeholders up to date with project progress
  • Supporting and advising innovators who are developing new technologies with clinical validation, user testing, intellectual property advice etc
  • Designing and organising conferences and workshops in support of managed projects
  • Managing, monitoring, and reporting budget management of projects
  • Supporting the development of detailed documents, plans and resource allocations for projects.
  • Produce regular and detailed performance reports against agreed metrics and KPIs for all projects for the Board and stakeholders.
  • Providing a central resource for information about programmes- including communications, updates, documentation, progress, and actions.
  • ProfileThe successful candidate will:
  • Have experience of managing and delivering a number of concurrent complex programmes on time and within budget
  • Have strong report writing skills, research abilities, and motivational interviewing skills
  • Hold a working knowledge of NHS systems
  • Have knowledge of using techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes, including risk management
  • Have experience of working with programme management software
  • Be available and able to work from the Wakefield offices when required
  • Have worked within the Public Sector and Government Sector previously
