Job Description

Motor Vehicle TechnicianDue to staff retirement this long established Motorist centre have multiple exciting positions available for full-time Motor Vehicle Technicians based in both Wakefield (WF2 7QY ) and Knottingley (WF11 0BJ). The successful candidates will earn between £25,000and £33,000 subject to qualification/experience. The candidates will preferably be level 3 qualified and be able to diagnose and repair modern day car and light commercial vehicle systems. A qualified MOT tester would be preferred, good customer skills wouldbe beneficial. Additional applications from apprentices are also welcome.Hours of work will be 5 and a half days; the Saturday rota is 1 in 3 off.Role Requirements

  • Minimum level 3 qualified
  • Experience in systems diagnostics, fault finding and repair
  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Mot tester preferred
  • Must be able to work alone and as part of a team and plan own workload
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Eligible to work in UK
  • Must be willing to provide a high level of customer service, must be comfortable dealing face to face with customers
Role Responsibilities
  • Carrying out routine servicing, Vehicle health checks
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Undertaking repairs from minor maintenance to major, more in-depth work
  • Must ensure a high standard of work
  • Must be self-motivated and would be expected to be involved in work planning with the rest of the team
CompanyMotorcity Motorist Centres in Wakefield was established in 1985, operating over 2 sites Wakefield and Knottingley, with a total workshop area of around 9000 sq/ft accommodating a total of 11 repair lifts, 2 Class 4&7 Mot bays, tyre bay and additional workingareas.The company undertakes all kinds of servicing, mechanical, diagnostic and electrical repairs on all makes of car and light commercial vehicles as well as Class 4&7 Mot tests. They carry out pre delivery inspection and repair work for a large main dealergroup who deal in high end, high value sports and prestige vehicles.The successful candidate will receive the following benefits:
