Job Description

Learning Support AssistantLocation: Kirklees / WakefieldEmployment Type: Full-time, Long-termSalary: £85-£100 per dayLearning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to children with a range of learning and behaviouralneeds.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in classroom support to students in Key Stage 2.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students access the curriculum, adapt materials, and use specialized equipment as needed.
  • Support students in developing essential life skills and social skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff members.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
  • Foster a safe and caring atmosphere for all students.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational or similar setting.
  • A passion for supporting the development and learning of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanour.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • An understanding of Key Stage 2 curriculum and educational needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (desirable but not essential).
  • Right to work in the UK essential and overseas police check required if lived overseas in the last 5 years for over 6 months
