Job Description

Employer benefits:TechMonkeys are an MSP based in Wakefield.TechMonkeys, founded in 2011 prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and rapid response times to our customers IT problems.Overview:We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.We are looking to recruit an IT apprentice to join our fast-paced dynamic team. You will be enrolled on to the QA Microsoft Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 ICT Apprenticeship and you will be providing predominantly remote 1st line support to our variedcustomer base across Yorkshire.The right individual will be a people person and will enjoy interacting with others on the phone and face to face. We are not necessarily looking for someone with IT experience as full training will be provided.However, we are looking for someone who is polite, has great telephone manner, logical thinker, can remain calm under pressure and who has an interest in IT.The apprenticeship is a 17-month course.The role is office based.Working week:40 Hours,8am - 4:30pm,Monday to Friday.Primary responsibilities:

  • Responding to and managing tickets in the helpdesk -- Technologies used: Azure, Office365, & Microsoft Server, plus industry standard back-up technologies and a range of networking hardware
  • To provide technical assistance and project support
  • Taking ownership of tasks to ensure monitoring is working effectively
  • Ensuring that key services are available for clients
  • Responsible for ensuring that customers backups are running as scheduled and hitting expected SLAs
  • There is also plenty of scope to get involved with 365 deployments and to help develop and use Microsoft intune, as well as deploying security best practices
What we are looking for:Desirable skills:
  • The successful candidate will be working in the technical team, so collaborative working skills are essential.
  • You will also need to be passionate about IT and have a strong interest in developing Technical & Communication skills.
Personal qualities:
  • A strong candidate will possess strong verbal communication skills and be willing to contribute to a collaborative working environment, and express ideas and opinions in a highly supportive setting.
  • An active interest in IT and experience with personal projects, such as technical troubleshooting and PC building would be a bonus.
Entry requirements:
  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.Benefits:Package includes:
