Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a personable and highly motivated Finance Manager to join a well-established business services organisation in the heart of Wakefield. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, deliveringfinancial reports and developing strategies based on financial research.Client DetailsMy client is a leading business services business based in Wakefield.DescriptionAs Finance Manager, you will lead a team that partners, supports and provides insightful performance reporting and analysis to the business unit, specifically:

  • Lead the business partnering team in proactively supporting the business unit helping them to interpret their financial results and manage their budgets effectively
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with senior managers and other key stakeholders within the business
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the business on all financial matters, fostering good communication and a continuous two-way dialogue whilst also developing a deep understanding of the respective areas
  • Work closely with the Reporting team throughout the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring that journals, accruals and forecast changes are input and submitted by the required deadlines.
  • Analyse, discuss, interpret, and explain variances between actual costs incurred, budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare tailored monthly reporting packs for each business unit providing insight, appraising performance, and highlighting opportunities and risks.
  • Develop ad hoc reports as required and embed as standard where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the business to understand their objectives and help develop their annual budget and 10-year business plan submission for capital and operating expenditure.
  • Coordinate annual updates to the relevant sections of the overhead allocation model, determining appropriate cost drivers for different areas, updating the underlying data and interpreting the impact of any changes made.
ProfileThe successful Finance Manager should have:
  • Professional finance qualification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • 2 years+ experience and a strong track record of managing people, performance and change
  • Proven business partnering experience
  • Experience within the business services/engineering sector desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
