Job Description

DevOps Engineer - Wakefield Area - AWS & Linux Private Cloud, KubernetesI’m working with a successful organisation who turn over in excess of €1 billion a year, to recruit an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their growing backend software team. This will be a varied and challenging role that will include the design, buildand optimisation of both public and private cloud platforms and using a containerised approach.You will take a lead role on a new and exciting greenfield project to design and build a Linux private cloud and using a containerised approach with Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.You will also work on AWS-based cloud solutions, Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and using CDK, ECS clusters and Lambdas to ensure high availability, scalability and security.Responsibilities will include:

  • Play a key role in the creation of a Linux private cloud to support a new distributed software as a service platform.
  • Design and implement AWS-based cloud solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and monitoring cloud platforms.
  • Manage cloud resources including cost optimization and performance.
  • Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines.
To be considered you will require proven experience with many of the following:
  • AWS Cloud Platforms
  • Kubernetes and Docker
  • Strong skills in building infrastructure using AWS CDK (preferably with TypeScript).
  • Strong Linux skills.
  • CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, CodeBuild or other similar tools.
  • Automation scripting - Python.
  • Excellent communication skills -verbal and written.
Any experience of the following would be desirable but is not essential:Azure or GCP, VMware or vSphere, Networking skills, PostgreSQL / SQL Server /MongoDB or DynamoDB, C# and MicroservericesSalary: £60,000 + training budget + benefitsLocation: Leeds / Wakefield area - Hybrid - 3 days a week in the office / 2 days from homeDuration: Permanent
