Management Accountant

Job Description

The CompanyAn established manufacturing organisation based in County Durham are seeking a Management Accountant to head up the finance team.The RoleThe successful Management Accountant will:

• Management Accounts administration and preparation including month end journals, prepayments and accruals.
• Bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts
• Working alongside the Managing Director to complete budgets and forecasts for upcoming financial year.
• Presenting monthly reporting pack to the Directors and Board Members.
• Offering support and training to the finance assistant.
• Preparation for yearly audit pack and liaising with the company auditors.
• Preparation of monthly sales report using Sage and Excel.
• Assist in costing and pricing.
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Continually look to improve the finance department.
• Payroll Preparation along with all relevant submissions and pension administration.
• Oversight of production team leaders, labour efficiencies and production schedule.
• All ad hoc duties as required by the Managing Director.

The Person

• Experience in a similar role (within an SME environment)
• Part qualified or qualified by experience
• Experience within the manufacturing sector is desirable
• Excellent Sage and Excel knowledge
