Job Description

Today, the Company has combined sales ofjust over JPY 629 billion, with manufacturing operations in 28 countries, sales in 130 countries, and employs some 27,000 people worldwide.We’re now seeking a Shift Team Leader to report directly to the Works Manager.The purpose of the role is to contribute to the successful operation of Pilkington Nottingham, with responsibility for overseeing the production and despatch of all products in accordance with Pilkington safety, quality and efficiency standards.Key Responsibilities

  • Distribute tasks in a fair and timely manner
  • Provide team direction and focus
  • Oversee the continuous development and training of team members by sharing own knowledge and experience
  • Cascade internal communication to Operators in a timely manner to confirm understanding and generate feedback.
  • Produce products in accordance with Pilkington quality system requirements.
  • Contribute to operations meetings, communicating any issues which could affect the delivery of business targets.
  • Deliver daily productivity, uptime and output targets.
  • Achieve product quality by agreed methods of inspection and testing.
  • Liaise with Works Manager and Operators to ensure consistent production.
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Provide cover for other areas of the business as and when required.
  • Carry out all activities in accordance with Pilkington Health & Safety Standards and procedures
  • Ensure all Operators always adhere to site rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate involvement in H&S initiatives and reporting requirements
The PersonApplicants should demonstrate a manner that is welcoming and helpful to colleagues and empathises with their needs. Be flexible with working hours, covering other shift patterns if required, in order to meet customer service requirements. Be able to builda rapport with the relevant teams across the site to ensure that the production process flows as it should. You must be a team player, able to communicate well with colleagues at all levels, and be able to work on your own initiative.
