Job Description

A renowned Aerospace / Manufacturing organisation requires a Production Welder to work In their assembly department at Uxbridge (West London) location. The Production Welder will perform a variety of welding and brazing operations,carry out welding required by maintenance and support the development process.Responsibilities:

  • To carry out brazing of low temperature silver and high temperature brass work to BS EN:12797:2000 standards including stud plates, trombone tubes and single end fitting pipes.
  • To carry out welding of aluminum and stainless steel to AWSD17.1/D17.1M:2010-AMD1 certification standards.
  • Set and operate the spot welder, deburr, polish clean and carry out ball bearing tests on all welding and brazing work to required standards.
  • To carry out Proof of Concept and other development welding activities as required.
  • To carry out welding work in support of the maintenance team as required.
  • Undertake self-inspection and quality checks.
  • Carry out 5S duties and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all relevant Health and Safety regulations are always adhered to including Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, SSW’s arising from RA’s/COSHH and Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • To monitor the fitness for purpose of tools and equipment and provide for their replacement and/or recalibration so that tools and equipment are in good condition and suitable for purpose at all times and in order to avoid damage of goods, property andharm to oneself or other employees.
  • To report any dangerous practices and other dangers such as faulty equipment to local supervision so that all operations are safe at all times.
  • To undertake any formal training in-house or external relevant to the job and adopt modern practices within the Department.
Skills & Experience:
  • Familiar with engineering hand tools.
  • General industrial cleaning experience gained from working in a manufacturing environment.
  • General Health & Safety awareness working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of measuring equipment.
  • SAP experience desirable.
  • High/Low Temp Brazing and TiG Welding.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Good interpersonal skills - Team Player.
  • Physically fit, reliable and conscientious.
