Job Description

Contracts Director - £100,000 to £110,000 per year + bonus – Hybrid, West LondonFryerMiles are delighted to be working with a global defence business to assist with their recruitment of a Contracts Director.The successful candidate will come from a strong Commercial and Contracts background within the defence sector, ideally be degree qualified in Law, Commercial or Business management and have a proven track record of managing commercial teams on complex defenceprojects.Reporting to the Global Contracts Director, you’ll be a hands on leader who takes control and manages their own contracts, engages with all levels of stakeholders and offers expertise to the wider business on contractual matters in the UK and overseas.Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise.
  • Ensure adherence with internal procedures on bid management and approval
  • Act as the conduit between the sales and technical teams and other Group functions including Finance and Legal.
  • Lead a team to input into the plans of the commercial function.
  • Be responsible for implementing policy and ensuring delivery of the Commercial and Contracts function.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with all contracts
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Oversee the administration of contracts throughout their lifecycle
  • Report back to internal and external stakeholders and providing regular updates on contract performance, issues, and milestones
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Law, Commercial or Business management (ideal)
  • Proven track record of managing complex MOD contracts
  • Valid SC clearance
  • Can travel to West London 2-3 days a week
  • Willing to travel overseas (1-4 times per year) when needed
