Technical Sales Engineer - PumpsTyne and Wear - Commutable from Washington, Gateshead and Newcastle Upon Tynec£38k-£40k neg dep exp + vehicle + benefitsOur client is part of a group that has been established for more than 150 years and specialise in a range of bespoke engineering activities, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a proactive and highly self-motivated Technical Sales Engineer - Pumps to complement their highly successful and respected pumps division.As a Technical Sales Engineer operating out of the Tyne and Wear area, you will be responsible for all sales associated with projects involving both new build, overhaul/modification and maintenance contracts of equipment for the pump industry, primarily in the UK but also covering some overseas projects as they may arise and will be tasked with generating both new sales and business development opportunities as well as securing sales through the development and retention of existing customer relationships.With demonstrable previous successful experience gained in a pump sales environment, you will employ effective strategic selling practices and will be skilled in planning your own sales strategy for short, medium and long term activities within the overall business strategy and will act on planned activities as detailed in the business strategy and plans. You will report and feedback outcomes from customer contacts for customer, market and product development and liaise extensively with customers at a technical level in order to establish and ensure specification compliance with their requirements.In the role of Technical Sales Engineer - Pumps you will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date awareness of the product portfolio as well as developments in the industry and the activities of competitors, and will support and assist with necessary technical input as required in the compilation of tender and quotation documentation, and preparing data sheets and pump curves in their subsequent submission.Performance in the role will be measured by the delivery of sales required to achieve your personal order intake target and evidence of improved existing customer relations as well as in the identification and winning of new customers and projects.To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline and demonstrate at least 3 years previous experience of working with centrifugal pumps with a proven successful track record gained within a Technical Sales Engineer - Pumps role within the Pump Industry. You will possess comprehensive knowledge of applicable standards associated with pumps (UK and International) including guidelines related to the pump industry (materials and material selection) with the ability to understand and apply financial information and will be highly customer-satisfaction focussed with high levels of IT literacy.A full UK driving licence is also essential for the position.Contact the Sales Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on or email your cv in confidence to for further details.
