Job Description

SENIOR BRIDGE STRUCTURE ENGINEER - NORTH EAST - PERMANENT ROLE - £28,000 - £36,000I am currently working for one of the UKs Largest Infrastructure companies, they are seeking for a permanent experienced Senior Bridge Structure Engineer to join their team based in Tyne and Wear.About You:

  • You must hold a BENg/BSc civil engineering degree or a near chartered status (MICE or MIstructE) with a min of 4 years Post - Graduate experience.
  • To be considered for the role you must have at least 4 years relevant experience in the design of bridges, structures, retaining walls buildings and highway project. With assessing experience in both concreate and steel bridges.
  • Must have good knowledge of projects & programmes managements with the implementation of quality control procedures.
  • A good working knowledge and experience in the use of bride design software packages such as STAAD, Autodesk, MIDAS and superSTRESS etc.
What you will be doing:
  • In this role you shall be undertaking scheme feasibility studies, both preliminary and detailed design, preparation of tender documents and work/construction inspection & supervision.
  • To have a in depth knowledge of relevant standards and contracts including DMRB, British Standards, Eurocodes, MCHW and NEC contract.
  • As senior engineer you will undertake the role of monitoring and providing guidance to less experienced Engineers, Graduate engineers and technicians to ensure project delivery.
  • Overall ensuring the designs are carried out in accordance with current designs standards considering the CDM regulations 2015, whole life costing, and value and risk management.
This permanent role is based in Tyne and Wear, this role is office / site based. You will need a full clean Drivers Licence.Salary for this role is between £28,000 - £47,000 dependant on experience and suitability, other benefits for this role include: 23 days holiday (with the opportunity to buy extra leave), company matched pension and much more included.In order to be considered for this position, you will need to be eligible to work in the UK.
