Job Description

Prospero Teaching is working with an excellent primary school in North Tyneside who are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and proactive KS1 Teacher to start ASAP on a long-term basis. The role is full-time and long-term, but the school would alsobe keen to speak to candidates who are available on a part-time basis.A key part of the role will be to work effectively alongside Teaching Assistants and other members of staff to ensure all pupils make progress and develop as young people in a positive way. The role will also involve working with pupils with a range of SENand challenging behaviour.It is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children every day.This role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire pupils.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a consistent, positive and proactive manner
  • Working alongside Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive the best possible educational experience
  • Supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to help create outstanding learning environments within lessons.
  • Having a "hands on" approach to supporting children in their learning, with a willingness to interact with young people and develop new skills.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working with teachers to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
This role requires:
  • QTS
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with young people
  • A resilient and positive nature with a proactive approach to work
  • Well-rounded subject knowledge and strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience with SEN is beneficial but not a requirement
  • Previous teaching experience, either teacher training placements or previous posts
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
  • A hands-on approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with the students.
