Lead Design Engineer, Tyne & WearOur client, a leading provider of equipment and components used in Oil & Gas drilling and production operations to oilfield and integration services is looking for a Lead Design Engineer to be based at their Tyne & Wear site.Within the role of Lead Design Engineer the successful candidate will provide solutions to the manufacturing and post market operations whilst developing and refining existing product designs in the production of valves, flowline equipment and other specialtyproducts.The role will involve leading a small team completing models, detail drawings, designs and calculations in order to produce quotations that meet customer requirements and post market activities acting as the expert for engineering matters on specific projects.As a Lead Design Engineer the successful candidate is expected to fully understand engineering design and manufacturing practices as this forms a key position within the Engineering division. This role requires the candidate to plan and execute on many levels,in order to provide cross-functional support and the appropriate level of customer interface. The candidate will be motivated to take on fresh challenges, develop their own technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand their knowledge and experiencethrough a variety of exciting and challenging projects.In summary, our client is looking for the following:*Knowledge of specific design codes, EC Directives and CE Marking, API 6A , ASME VIII*Someone who has experience leading design projects within multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring engineering reports*A working knowledge of oilfield equipment, specifically, Surface Test Trees, Gate Valves, Mud Valves, Plug Valves, Hammer Unions, Flowline equipmentOutstanding career opportunities and work life balance. 4/5 days home/office.Lead Design Engineer, Tyne & Wear
