Job Description

TYNE & WEAR (Ref 563) Permanent up to £50k + benefitsWe are proud to be working in partnership with our client to recruit an HR Manager for this long established north east business. With a high level of autonomy, you will have the added benefit of a wider HR team for support and collaboration.Reporting directly to the CEO, and linking with the Director of HR, the HR Manager will work with members of the senior leadership team to develop a progressive business HR Strategy that enables the continued development of the business. With a proactiveand pragmatic approach, the role will involve -

  • Provide advice and support to the business on all ER matters providing resolution and consistency
  • Coach managers and employees to enable them to deal effectively with employee relations matters including discipline, disputes, grievances, consultation and negotiations
  • Support with investigations and attend all disciplinary hearings
  • Provide leadership on the negotiations and consultations relating to agreed policies including trade union agreements and particularly annual pay reviews
  • Support managers in the management of absence ensuring line managers and employees have completed the relevant paperwork
  • Work with occupational health with any sickness concerns
  • Manage recruitment from authorisation to offer stage, working with the admin team for support
  • Responsibility for production and monitoring of the business training plan and budget, taking into consideration PMD outcomes, financial constraints and corporate objectives
  • Identifying training needs, succession planning and contribute to coaching and development of Managers/Supervisors
  • Support the development of a compensation and benefits strategy to meet the needs of the business
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • Significant knowledge in dealing with people and supporting line managers within all aspects of employee relation issues
  • Experience of dealing with Trade Unions
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • High level influencing skills - able to challenge employees and influence at all levels
  • Relevant experience of working in a similar role
