Job Description

SEN Teaching assistant - TwickenhamImmediate start - Mainstream secondary schoolWe are currently working with a mainstream secondary school in Twickenham. They are looking for an SEN teaching assistant to work with SEN students age 11-16. The role of the SEN Teaching assistant will involve personal care, and the ideal candidate willbe trained in wheelchair handling as the role involves moving the student from wheelchair to chair. They would like someone who has good behaviour management, experience of working with SEN pupils in a school setting and will support them to target their specificneeds. The successful candidate will start a weeks trial asap and will need a DBS on the update service/ open to applying for one.The school is located close to a mainline train station and various local bus routesKey skills and experience required for SEN TA:

  • SEN Experience
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Trained/ open to personal care and wheelchair handling
  • Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
  • Professional manor
  • Enthusiasm and friendly approach
  • Experience or knowledge within special educational needs
