Job Description

This independent day school in Twickenham is looking for a full time Finance Assistant to join the team with immediate start, subject to satisfactory compliance checks.Finance AssistantTwickenham, TW1 4TQ

  • £26,000 to £30,000 p.a. depending on skills and experience
  • Must have experience of tendering, purchasing and monitoring budgets
Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKOur client is a successful, flourishing co-educational independent day school for pupils aged from 4 to 13, based in Twickenham, in South West London.They are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Finance Assistant to join a small, busy Finance Team.The successful candidate will assist the Finance Manager in ensuring financial procedures, systems, budgetary and internal controls operate effectively and are maintained to the highest standards, complying with the school’s legal obligations and requirements.Previous experience of tendering and purchasing procedures and monitoring budgets would be required as well as a willingness to learn the payroll process in order to support the Finance Manager.There would be a requirement to occasionally help out on Reception in busy periods or to cover absences so the successful candidate should be flexible, have good interpersonal skills and be able to deal with queries from parents, pupils and staff.To be considered for the role, you will:
  • Be highly motivated and efficient individual who can work on their own but be part of the wider centralised Finance Function
  • Be an effective communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and be able to develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines of varying timescales.
  • Be prepared to work flexibly, independently, sometimes under pressure, and always with a ‘can and will do’ attitude.
  • Need to demonstrate that you have a good working knowledge and level of competence in using Excel and Word coupled with great attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
  • Be able to think in a logical and systematic manner
  • Have a high level of personal integrity and confidentiality
You will not need to have worked in a school environment before but a passion for helping improve the education of our students through providing high quality finance support is desirable.HoursThis is a full time, permanent and all year-round role working Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30 pm.
